SBA Regional Training Centre

ActiveSG Badminton Academy collaborates with Singapore Badminton Association to plan for a sustainable pathway to groom young badminton athletes to represent Singapore in time to come. The plan is to ensure that Singapore will have a steady stream of fundamentally good young players coming into the National Pathway.

The four (4) Regional Training Centres (RTCs) island-wide will execute this Curriculum to build-up a crop of quality young players. These RTCs will be managed by selected private academies and clubs in partnership with SBA.

By adopting a regional approach, it aims to create the opportunity for all players to train near to their school and/or home. We recognize our local coaches as one of the key components to the development of youth badminton players in Singapore. In the past, there have been many good young talents produced through private academies and clubs. The RTC model seeks to partner these outstanding private academies and clubs to steer towards the success of Singapore Badminton.

The RTCs will be a great addition to the existing badminton ecosystem as a new driving force in the youth age group. Alongside the current infrastructure of private coaching, academies, clubs and schools, this will help form a strong pool of youth players for NIS selection.
