Para Swimming

Season 3 Programmes (July to September 2024)

The ActiveSG Para Sport Academy (PSA) is featuring Para Swimming as one of the parasports to provide more opportunities for parasport participation and development.

We welcome individuals with Physical, Intellectual and/or Visual impairments to join us in experiencing swimming conducted by qualified coaches in a safe, fun and supportive environment. PSA has structured pathways that involves partnerships with SportCares and SDSC and with a trial to see where your child is in swimming and ensure they are in the correct programme.

Criteria:

• Only for individuals with Physical, Intellectual and/or Visual impairments.
• Physical Impairments: Impaired Muscle Power, Limb Deficiency, Leg Length Difference, Short stature, Hypertonia, Ataxia, Athetosis, Impaired Passive Range of Movement etc
• Intellectual Impairments: IQ level must be below 75
• Visual impairments: Fully or partially
• Minimum age: 7 years old
• Mandatory for caregivers to be present during the sessions
• For verification purposes, participants must submit relevant documents (doctor's report/diagnosis etc) to ActiveSG_ParaSport@sport.gov.sg.

*Interested individual should be able to take instructions from coaches.
