ActiveSG Football Cup Nov/Dec 2022

The November - December 2022 run of ActiveSG Cup will see more than 90 U10, U12 and U14 boys and girls teams coming together to compete and play.

Rules and Regulations

  • 5v5 (U10), 7v7 (U12), 8v8 (U14) Football
  • Teams are permitted three substitutes.  Substitute players are not compulsory.
  • Qualification for age group is dependent on birth year

zujuGP YoungWarriors Scholarship 

 

zujuGP is proud to collaborate with ActiveSG Cup 2022 November-December edition.  This collaboration will see zujuGP awarding three YoungWarrior Scholarships to deserving footballers participating in the ActiveSG Cup football competition.  YoungWarrior Scholarship recipients will receive an all-expenses-paid 1-week training stint at Valencia FC Academy in 2023.  zujuGP will also organise an exclusive football clinic involving representatives from Valencia FC for selected ActiveSG Cup 2022 football participants and coaches.  

ActiveSG-zujuGP YoungWarrior Scholarship supports the Unleash The Roar movement by identifying local talent and providing opportunities for youth footballers to train at professional academies overseas.  

ActiveSG Basketball Cup Dec 2022

The ActiveSG Basketball Cup will be played in the 3x3 format, currently the number one urban team sport in Singapore.  More than 1000 children and youth from ages 9-16 will come together for the second edition of the ActiveSG Basketball Cup this December.

  • Teams are allowed to have 3 players on the court and 1 substitute

The inaugural ActiveSG Cup kicked off in February 2022 and has facilitated more than 4,000 Football and Basketball matches for participants aged 13-19 years old. The ActiveSG Cup is also organised and supported by five Sports Resilience Package (SRP) grant recipients. The SRP was launched in October 2021 and its objectives include supporting and strengthening the local sporting industry’s capability and capacity to deliver innovative and quality sporting events in the new normal. To date, more than 600 unique businesses and over 300 individuals were supported by the SRP.

Zones

To reach out to as many participants as possible, there will be 5 geographical zones where participants can choose from for their own convenience or preference.

Competition Timeline

The ActiveSG Cup 2022 Basketball Competition will start from 19 Feb  to 20 Mar.

There will be 4 different stages of competition consisting Zonal Qualifers, Zonal Finals, Super and Prime Leagues and Final 4.

Each stage will be depedent on indiviudal team’s progression into the competition.

Geared towards the U16, U19 and U23 categories (men’s and women’s) for this edition, ActiveSG Cup 3x3 Basketball encourages active participation from the community, with spectators rallying behind their favourite teams and players.

Registration

To register, please ensure that:

  1. You have an ActiveSG Account and are logged in into your ActiveSG Account via Singpass.
  2. CLICK HERE to register then press  the "Volleyball" image at the bottom.
  3. Choose "Team" then proceed to pick your category and register your team.

For the first time ever, about 50 teams formed by youth ages 10-19 will come together to compete for champions in ActiveSG Cup!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

General Enquiries for all Sports

1. When do registrations close for the competitions? 
Basketball: Registration closes on 20 October 2023, 12 noon
Football: Registration closes on 27 October 2023, 12 noon
Volleyball: Registration closes on 1 November 2023, 12 noon
* or when registration is full, whichever is earlier.

2. How do I know which category I belong to? 
Click here for basketball, click here for football and click here for volleyball. 
Please refer to the Rules & Regulations on our ActiveSG Cup Website for further details.

3. Can a school register for ActiveSG Cup?
School teams can register as a team to play together.

4. How do I know if I have successfully registered?
You will be receiving a confirmation email stating that you have registered. 

5. What is the attire for the competitions?
Please prepare one set of dark and light coloured shirts each. They do not need to be of the same design, as long as the colour is the same.

6. What should I do if I need to change any details to my registration after we have received confirmation? 
We are happy to help! Email us at sport_leagues_competition@sport.gov.sg and we will take it from there.

7. What prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition? 
Winners will receive trophies and/or medals 🏅

 

For Basketball & Football

1. Why are there no U15 or U16 categories for basketball and football this November 2023 edition?
U15 and U16 categories are not included in the Nov/Dec 2023 edition so that students in this age group can fully focus on national exam preparations.

2. What is the payment method available? 
PayNow for basketball & football.

 

For Volleyball

1. What is the payment method available?
Payment is made via your ActiveSG account or wallet.

2. Can a team register without a coach or team manager?
No, the team cannot register without a coach or team manager.

3. Must the coach or assistant coach be VAS registered?
Coach and assistant coach should preferably be VAS registered but it is not mandatory for this competition.

4. Can the Team Manager play and is there any age requirement?
The team manager should be at least 21 years old. That would also mean that they are not eligible to play in this competition. Also, the team manager does not have to be one of the coaches.
