Team Singapore’s young athletes continued to make their mark on Day 4 of competition at the Asian Youth Games, showing composure, teamwork, and determination across triathlon, golf, and athletics. From the fast-paced Mixed Team Relay in triathlon to the high-pressure track finals and final rounds on the golf course, the athletes demonstrated steady improvement and the fighting spirit that defines Singapore’s next generation of sporting talent.

Over at the Triathlon Mixed Team Relay Super Sprint Final, Caleb Joel Barter, Chan Chi-Onn Ethan, Jemma Hadden, and Nur Isabella Schiering combined efforts to deliver a solid performance for Singapore. Each athlete completed a 250 m swim, 6 km bike ride, and 1.6 km run before tagging the next teammate. The quartet clocked a total time of 1:55:30, finishing sixth out of nine teams — a commendable effort that reflected their teamwork and resilience.

At the Royal Golf Club, Riffa Views, Singapore’s golfers rounded off their campaigns after three days of competition in the Individual Finals. In the Boys’ Individual event, Kwong Ching Yat Bruce continued his strong form, returning a 73 (1 over par) in Round 3 to finish joint 12th for the round and joint eighth overall out of 51 athletes after three rounds (76, 69, 73). His composed performance across the tournament reflected impressive consistency and competitive spirit.

In the Girls’ Individual event, Guo Jun Xi carded a 71 (1 under par) in Round 3, finishing 15th for the round and sixth overall out of 31 golfers after three consistent rounds (66, 67, 71). Her steady play throughout the tournament placed her among the top 10 competitors in the field.

At the Bahrain National Stadium, Team Singapore’s track athletes delivered spirited performances across multiple events. Wang Qiyue had a busy and rewarding day in the Boys’ 200 m. In Round 1, Heat 1, he clocked 22.36 seconds, finishing second out of seven and ranking eighth overall out of 22 competitors. His new personal best earned him a place in the Final later in the evening. In the Final, Qiyue gave another strong showing, clocking 22.49 seconds to finish seventh out of eight against a highly competitive field.

In the Boys’ 2000 m Steeplechase Final, Ahmad Zubayr Bin Mohamed Imran achieved a new personal best of 6:28.37, finishing eighth out of 15 runners. His teammate, Liu Haoyue, came in 13th with a time of 6:41.28. Both athletes demonstrated endurance and composure in a demanding race that tested strength and rhythm over barriers and water jumps.

Rounding off the day, Daryen Ko Xin Tze produced another remarkable effort in the Boys’ 400 m Hurdles Final, stopping the clock at 53.56 seconds to finish fourth out of eight competitors. Building on his national-record-breaking run in the heats, Daryen once again showcased poise and speed, narrowly missing out on a podium finish but reinforcing his status as one of the region’s brightest young hurdlers.

As the curtain closed on Day 4, Team Singapore’s athletes stood tall after another day of competition, proving that progress is built one step at a time. From personal bests to near-podium finishes, their resilience and teamwork continue to inspire, reflecting the perseverance and pride of Singapore’s sporting spirit.
