Li-Ning has been sponsoring Singapore badminton since 2009. In 2010, the mega Chinese brand asserted their status as the title sponsor as well as official equipment and apparel sponsor for the Singapore Open, over a 4-year stint.
Said SBA President Tan Kian Chew: “We are pleased that Li-Ning has reiterated its backing of the Singapore badminton scene. Our partnership thus far has been a mutually beneficial one, and we feel that this collaboration represents the promising future of Singapore badminton.”
Mr. Kapoor, Managing Director of Sunlight Sports Pte Ltd - the multi-national exclusive distributor for Li-Ning, echoed Mr Tan’s sentiments: “Sunlight Sports and Li-Ning are delighted to renew our partnership with the Singapore Badminton Association for another 4-year term.” Said Mr. Kapoor, Managing Director of Sunlight Sports Pte Ltd.
“This collaboration will elevate Li-Ning’s standing as a top sports brand, and it will also serve as a testament to our current badminton development programmes,” he added.
The latest sponsorship will cover the national squad, national intermediate squad (NIS) as well as SBA’s panel of coaches and sparring partners.
Under the terms of the sponsorship deal, the team will have access to the full range of Li-Ning badminton products ranging from racquets, racquet bags, tracksuits and training apparel to shoes and tournament apparel.
In addition, Sunlight Sports Pte Ltd will set aside cash incentives for national shuttlers who achieve success at international tournaments.
On top of this, the Chinese outfit also becomes the Official Equipment and Apparel Sponsor for the Singapore International Series, and Youth International Series, while providing the necessary resources required for Singapore’s blossoming young players to flourish and stake their claim in future, while propelling the standard of badminton in Singapore.

The Singapore Badminton Open will feature world class players from around the globe vying for the top prize of USD350,000. This prestigious event is organised by the Singapore Badminton Association and is a Super 500 event, with the Singapore Leg part of the new HSBC BWF World Tour Series.
