NSG 2023 Fencing : ACS(I) Samuel Robson scores Gold Medals in A Division Epee & Foil Finals!

With the 32nd Southeast Asian Games taking place in Cambodia in less than 2 weeks, several Singaporean student-athletes are busy in their final stages of preparations. And these final crucial moments are currently showcased in the 2023 National School Games (NSG). One fine example is our rising Team Singapore fencer, Samuel Robson. 

The Year 5 Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) student, will be making his SEA Games debut in the Men's Foil event in Phnom Penh. At home though, not only did the 17 year old compete in his pet foil discipline, Samuel also fenced in the Epee events as well. And little did he know that on 20 April 2023, he would go to win the Gold in the Epee and a day later, claim his 2nd NSG crown in the Foil final as well!

After beating Singapore Sports School's Tan Yun Kai 15-13 in the the Epee final, Samuel told the Straits Times, "Epee is not my main weapon... I was pleasantly surprised. Victory favours neither the wicked nor the righteous, but the prepared”.
