"A journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step" - Lao Tze

I have been on this fitness journey for 8 years and I dont see myself ever stopping. Through this journey, I have gained many traits such as commitment, discipline and made a couple of good friends along the way. Fitness is not all about looking fabulous like how social media portrays it to be. It is also not about the super strict diet to get that ripped body so that you can show it off. I admit that I was stuck in that conundrum mentally in the beginning, but it is not physically and mentally healthy if the main motivation for fitness is to look good for that gram.

The reason why I stuck with fitness for 8 years is because I focus on the right motivation; the motivation of keeping healthy, training my cognitive ability to resist temptation and producing endorphins that helps with relieving stress. The bodily outlook will come eventually with perseverance and GRIT.

Okay, so now the question is where do I start? The definition of fitness according to dictionary.com is capability of the body of distributing inhaled oxygen to muscle tissue during increased physical effort . To put it simply, fitness is about increasing your heart rate and to do that it ranges from taking a 30-min brisk walk to a 2-hour gym session.

These are some recommendations of body weight workouts to get you started. In light of COVID-19, many of us are confined to our homes, but dont let that stop you from starting today. The routine below is what I started with. Give it a go!
