MWS Empowerun 2023

MWS Empowerun is an annual charity run held by Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) which aims to galvanise the community to bring colours to lives together, raising funds for critical programmes and services of MWS.

MWS work is centred on 5 IMPACT AREAS to give:

• care to the chronically ill and destitute
• strength to families in distress
• warmth to seniors who are socially isolated
• grace to youths at risk
• hope to children from disadvantaged backgrounds

MWS Empowerun is a unique charity run for 3 reasons:

1. Choose the impact area that speaks to your heart most, one which you would like to represent and advocate for.
2. Learn about the challenges and issues faced by beneficiaries in your chosen impact area. You can raise awareness of these issues within your social network and advocate for support or understanding. These challenges include poverty, trauma, mental illness, physical health issues and isolation.
3. Sign up for "personal encounters" with beneficiaries in your impact area of choice. These personal encounters can happen through visiting the centres, having an online meet and greet or participating in the run together.

Registration Period: 20 March to 20 July 2023

Virtual Run Period: 21 July - 30 July 2023

Fundraising Period: 20 March - 31 August 2023

All participants will receive a run T-shirt, goodie bag, and e-certificate.
