Optimising the Health and Performance of Female Athletes: Understanding the Menstrual Cycle
This workshop explores how female athletes can optimize their health and performance by understanding the menstrual cycle's impact on athletic capabilities. Led by Dr. Cherianne Taim from Singapore's High Performance Sport Institute, the session will examine:
- Basic understanding of physiological sex differences
- Physiology of the menstrual cycle
- Impact of intense training on menstrual cycles
- Assessing missed periods during training blocks and red flags
- Strategies for coaches to support female athletes' health
