Introducing scanners at ActiveSG pools and gyms
Noticed a QR code on your swim or gym pass? We’re progressively introducing scanners across ActiveSG pools and gyms, to make entry faster and smoother for you. Read more about our scanners here.
Caregiver Scheme
Parents, helpers and caregivers of ActiveSG pool users, take note!
If you aren’t using the pool and need to help the child/children in your care get ready either before or after class, there is a 15-minute complimentary grace period for you to enter our swimming facilities. If you are staying throughout the duration of the swim class, we seek your understanding to purchase a swim pass for entry.
For caregivers of users with special needs, you are welcome to accompany them throughout their entire pool session, on a complimentary basis.
Do approach our Sport Champions for assistance on complimentary entry into the pool. You will be required to scan a QR code before accessing the pool. Should you require any assistance or clarifications, they will be happy to guide you.

About the Transition
Hey everyone! This is Sebastian from the MyActiveSG+ team. We launched our new system on 15 August, and we saw that people had a bunch of questions that we wanted to help address:
Why did we build MyActiveSG+?
The old ActiveSG system served us well for many years, but that contract was expiring. We chose to rebuild it in-house to give us more control of the system, and allow us to take action on critical issues such as bots and scalping of courts.
Why did we build this as a website instead of a native app?
A lot of you told us you have too many apps on your phone, and hate being forced to install another government app. We wanted to get out of people’s way as much as possible. And for members who really use MyActiveSG+ a lot, they can just bookmark the page as a shortcut on their home screen.
Why aren’t we using turnstiles anymore?
The new system was planned to interface with a new entry system for ActiveSG facilities. We have implemented passes without having to link with physical turnstiles. We will study if this presents a different way for access control to the pools, much like how most gyms today operate without turnstiles.
Thanks to the feedback you’ve shared, we’ve learned:
1. Scalpers are still abusing balloting with new strategies. We have a bunch of ideas on how to solve this that we can’t talk about publicly, but will be getting implemented soon. Please do keep us updated on whatever abuse you see. We try our best to keep ahead of it, but the more eyes we have on the problem, the better.
2. Ground officers were checking NRICs manually, resulting in longer queues and waiting times. We have re-implemented NRIC scanning to get you into pools and gyms quicker!
3. You liked the gym crowdedness feature from the old app. So we’ve re-implemented it here: https://activesg.gov.sg/gym-capacity
We know changing to a new system can be confusing, so thank you all for giving us feedback and helping us fix teething issues! We really think this system will allow us to be much more responsive to people’s needs, and move a lot more quickly to address problems. Some things we’re working on right now that you should see in the next few days:
1. Improving programme discoverability, so you can find your favourite classes easily.
2. Pass consumption so you can better track what passes have been used.
If there are any other issues we should know about, tell us at https://go.gov.sg/activesgsupport.
Stay tuned to this page for more updates!
ActiveSG members can look forward to a fairer and more transparent system for booking facilities on MyActiveSG+:
Singpass app verification: Members will be required to use Singpass for sign-up and login to MyActiveSG+. This prevents people from holding multiple accounts for booking and balloting, and addresses the feedback from members having to compete for slots with people who hold multiple accounts created using email address, or bots and scripters.
Peak hour facility ballot: MyActiveSG+ now has a balloting feature for peak hour slots, open for 24 hours to ensure fairness to allow everyone to have a fair chance of booking their preferred slot. Unclaimed slots from the balloting will be available first-come-first-served at noon the next day, 13 days before the date of use. Other slots remain first-come-first-served.
Web-based platform: The web platform ensures users stay informed at all times, across devices without needing to install or update an app on their mobile devices.
Easy-to-navigate user interface: MyActiveSG+ utilises a responsive design that adapts seamlessly to different devices, whether mobile or web.
Seamless linking of children through supplementary accounts: Parents can now link their children ages 0 to 14 (under 15) to their accounts, as supplementary members using Singpass as of 1 July. ActiveSG will introduce 'family accounts' on the refreshed platform at a later stage.
(Coming Soon) Refunds and cancellations: A new “Refunds and Cancellations” feature will be rolled out at a later stage in direct response to public feedback.
