The Active Citizen Grant encourages innovative ground-up initiatives and community-based activities in any of the following three domains: sports volunteerism, physical activity, or health & wellness initiatives.

Team Singapore Team Nila Youth CreatesAbout Team Singapore:
Team Singapore is the united identity of elite athletes, coaches and officials from Singapore that represents the country in major multi-sport Games and identified international competitions.
The three core attributes of Pride, Performance and Perseverance anchor that which is the collective Team Singapore. Underscoring the traits of a winning team, these attributes are the important elements of sportsmanship and excellence that propel the nation forward to succeed on the world’s sporting stage.
Team Singapore is a shared identity for all Singaporeans, where sport is the national language. It represents the unique connection between our athletes and every other Singaporean – young or old, as they embark on a sporting journey as one. Team Singapore is one big family inspiring one another through sport. It is a relationship that extends beyond the sporting fraternity, and beyond the major Games. Team Singapore is about living better lives as we embody values inherent in sport: a winning spirit, an appreciation for teamwork, a commitment to purpose, the importance of ethical behaviour and a love for our country.

The active citizen grant is set out for past and present Team Singapore athletes to start their own charity, event or initiative that contribute towards fostering and giving back to community through power of sports, physical activities, health and wellness.

As Team Singapore (TeamSG) personifies the values of Pride, Perseverance, Performance and Service, TeamSG Cares seeks to inspire the Singapore Spirit by transcending TeamSG Athletes’ performance beyond the field of play to being role-models in service of the community as a force for good.
The Team Singapore active citizen grant allows Team SG athletes to give back to the community. Team SG Athletes, both past and present, can apply to the grant to support any charity, community event or initiative they are involved in, contributing to causes they care for. Proposals should align to athletes’ interests and serve community needs.
Who can apply?
Athletes(past and present) that have represented Team Singapore at any Major Games are eligible to apply for the grant.
What projects qualify for the grant?
In general, projects that serve the community through Team SG athletes’ initiative will qualify for consideration. Examples include charity fundraising events, mental health advocacy workshops, volunteering events helping the underprivileged and bringing sports to the community.
How to apply?
Applications are to be submitted onto the OSG portal for consideration and approval.

Team Singapore athletes (applicants) will need to fill in an online application form from the OSG Portal (link: https://oursggrants.gov.sg/). Applicants who are applying for funding support will have to provide additional details i.e.,
The Grant Officer will contact you once your application has been evaluated. Should your application be successful, you will be required to enter into an Agreement with Sport Singapore.
Team Singapore athletes(past and present) who have represented Singapore at any major games can apply for this grant.
Yes, multiple applications are allowed as long as proposals are for different projects, targeting different groups of participants. Separate applications are required for different proposals.
Spearheaded by Sport Singapore, Team Nila is a national sport volunteer movement that promotes the culture of giving, citizen partnership and social cohesion through sport. Beside specially curated volunteering opportunities, various training opportunities are also offered to Team Nila so that they can be equipped with the relevant skills to contribute towards building a resilient and caring society.

Our Team Nila Grant officers will be in touch with you if clarifications are required.
Note: Successful applicants will be required to sign the Active Citizen Grant – Team Nila Programme Agreement with Sport Singapore.

Upon receipt of Letter of Offer, the following documents are required:

Our Team Nila Grant officers will be in touch with you to finalise the disbursement.
Upon submission of your proposal, a grant officer will reach out to you within 2 weeks to ensure all the documents are properly filled and are ready to be submitted to the evaluation panel.
Subsequently, you will be notified of the result 2-3 weeks after the submission.
Upon approval of your project application, you will receive the grant funds in 2 tranches:
First Tranche
The first 75% of the total approved project cost will be disbursed after you have signed the letter of award.
This is intended to provide funds for you to kick start and execute your project.
Second Tranche
Upon project completion, the remaining 25% of the total approved project cost will be disbursed after the submission of post-project report, proof of deliverables and statement of account.
Note: The actual project outcome and deliverables are key considerations of the second tranche amount.

After which, it would take 2-3 weeks to hear the results back. Our grant team will be in touch with you throughout the whole process!
Costs we do fund:
- Professional services such as event management or medical services
- Marketing & publicity such as social media buys or printing of promotional banners
- Direct operating costs such as audio system rental
Costs we do not fund:
- Expenses incurred outside of Singapore
- Expenses incurred for crowdfunding events
- Expenses incurred for any form of religious/political activities
- Cash Prize(s)
- Capital expenditure
Upon approval of your project application, you will receive funds in 2 tranches:
- 1st Tranche - The first 75% of the total approved project cost will be disbursed upon the project approval, after the letter of award has been signed. This is intended to give you some funds to kick start and execute your project.
- 2nd Tranche - The remaining 25% of the total approved project cost will be disbursed upon project completion, supported by the post-project report, proof of deliverables and statement of account. The second tranche will be subject to the outcome and deliverables submitted post-event.
