Celebrating National Day through Sport: Pesta Sukan Community Championship
As part of GetActive! Singapore, the inaugural Pesta Sukan Community Championship (PSCC 2024), organised by Sport Singapore and in collaboration with the People’s Association, concluded earlier this month at the Singapore Sports Hub, OCBC Arena.
Held from 14 July to 4 August, PSCC 2024 is more than just a sporting event. It is a platform to strengthen the sense of community through shared experiences on the courts and fields. Featuring Badminton, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, and Pickleball, the championship brought together 1,132 participants from 133 teams across various neighbourhoods, instilling a sense of pride and belonging among both participants and spectators as they cheered for their representatives.
The energy on the courts and fields was palpable, with participants displaying their skills and sportsmanship while spectators cheered on their constituency representatives.
The sight of the community rallying together, united by their love for sport, was a testament to the power of GetActive! Singapore events in strengthening the fabric of our communities.
As we reflect on the success of PSCC 2024, we invite all members of the public to continue supporting and participating in future editions. Whether you’re an athlete, a volunteer, or a passionate supporter, there’s a place for everyone in this celebration of sport and unity.
Together, we can make every edition of the Pesta Sukan Community Championship a memorable and impactful event that embodies the spirit of our vibrant community.
Let’s continue to play, unite, and live better through sport!
