2:43

Team Singapore continued its SEA Games campaign with the Men’s Baseball team, Women’s Football team, and both the Men’s and Women’s Badminton teams taking to their respective arenas in pursuit of key victories and tournament momentum.

At the Queen Sirikit Sports Center in Pathum Thani, the Men’s Baseball team opened the day against defending champions Philippines. The Philippines came out aggressive, demonstrating exactly why they remain the team to beat. Their strong batting display placed pressure on Singapore’s debutants, resulting in several fielding errors as the lead widened early. Despite their determination to adapt and learn, Team Singapore eventually fell 3–17 to the reigning champions. Their next game will be against Vietnam on 8 December, Monday, 11:00 AM (SG Time).

Over at the National Sports University in Chonburi, the Women’s Football team put up a spirited fight but ultimately fell 3–1 to Indonesia. The team will look to regroup and respond strongly in their next match against Thailand on 10 December (Wednesday), 5:00 PM (SG Time).

Meanwhile, at the Thammasat University Rangsit Campus in Pathum Thani, both Team Singapore Badminton teams delivered emphatic performances. The Women's and Men's team each secured 3–0 victories - against Philippines and Laos respectively - to advance to the semifinals.

A standout moment came from Megan Lee Xin Yi, who rebounded confidently after dropping her first set, winning the next two with grit and composure. Her spirited comeback energized the rest of the squad, who capitalized on the momentum to close out their games decisively.

With their commanding wins, both teams have guaranteed at least a bronze medal in their SEA Games campaign. The Women’s team will face Thailand on 8 December at 10:00 AM (SG Time), while the Men’s team will take on Indonesia at 3:00 PM (SG Time) on the same day.

Team Singapore concludes the day with valuable lessons from their defeats and two assured medals as they continue their pursuit of excellence at the 2025 SEA Games.
