The A Division Girls' Volleyball competition at the 2023 National School Games (NSG), got underway on 18 April. 14 schools were divided into 2 groups and they began their respective preliminary round-robin campaigns, facing off against 6 teams, before proceeding to the knockout stages. On 26 April at PSOEB (Evans Road), Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) met their opponents from Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC). Both teams went into the clash, having won their opening 2 matches.
Back in the 2022 NSG campaign, NYJC lost twice in the quarter-final group stage and weren't able to progress further. As for the ACSians, they couldn't get past the initial prelim group round, after a run of 1 win and 3 losses. Fast forward to the start of May 2023, ACJC have 3 wins and 2 defeats while NYJC are on a 4-match winning streak!
