Over the course of 10 days, 133 schools participated in the NSG 2024 Track and Field Junior and Senior Division events. On the final day of the championship run, Choa Chu Kang Stadium buzzed with excitment during Session 20 of the National School Games Track and Field Junior and Senior Division Championships. It was dedicated to track and field relay races, where teams of young athletes showcased their speed on the track. Here are some of our student athletes!
In the Senior Div Boys 4 X 200m Relay, Northland Primary School's (NPS) Syakeel El Danish Bin Abdul Yazid Bustami (left) prepared to pass the baton to teammate Suren Roshan S/O Mohan (right).
Nanyang Primary School (NYP) secured 2nd place with a timing of 01:58.68 in the Senior Div Boys 4 X 200m Relay. Sean Yuen (left) successfully passed the baton to his teammate Kyle Cheam Jun Sheng, who took over the race.
In the Senior Div Girls 4 X 200m Relay, Sophie Lock Mei Ho (left) and Chai Run Xi (right) represented Henry Park Primary School (HPP) and secured 3rd place with a timing of 02:06.06.
Swa Yu Zun, representing Yio Chu Kang Primary School (YCK), participated in the Junior Div Boys 8 X 50m Relay.
Bethany Mun Yan (left) represented HPP in the Junior Div Girls 8 X 50m Relay. The school achieved 5th place in Junior Div Group 1 with a timing of 01:13.28 and 4th place in Junior Div Group 2 with a timing of 01:04.99.
Eilhan Yusuf Bin Raja Nazruldin (left) and Umar Lee Sugito (right) from Gongshan Primary School (GSP) completed the Junior Div Boys 8 X 50m Relay, finishing in 8th place with a timing of 01:06.38.
NYP's Wong Jun Hao Llewelyn competed in the Junior Div Boys 8 X 50m Relay. The NYP Junior Div Teams secured 3rd place for Junior Div Boys Group 1 8 X 50m Relay with a timing of 01:05.96 and 2nd place for Junior Div Boys Group 2 8 X 50m Relay with a timing of 00:59.94.
Ng Jia Xuan from NPS reached for a pass during the Senior Div Girls 4 X 200m Relay. The school finished in 10th place with a timing of 02:15.29.
Png Ruiyang Leon from St Joseph's Institution (Junior) (SJI (JR)) participated in the Senior Div Boys 4 X 200m relay. They secured 4th place with a timing of 02:02.38.
Tay Yu You Jayden from Bendemeer Primary School participated in the Junior Div Boys 8 X 50m Relay. The team finished in 6th place, completing it in 01:05.14
The relay events pushed the young student athletes to excel as individuals and work together as a team.
