Due to the evolving haze situation, SportSG has implemented precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of our facility users.

All ActiveSG sport facilities will resume operations on 17 October 2026, according to their respective operating hours.

Visitors are advised to monitor prevailing air quality conditions and adjust their activities accordingly. Vulnerable groups, including seniors, children and individuals with existing health conditions, are encouraged to exercise extra caution when participating in outdoor activities.

Facilitating a Psychologically-Informed Environment for Optimal Athlete Development

Facilitating a Psychologically-Informed Environment for Optimal Athlete Development

Join to discover how coaches can leverage on sports psychology to enhance the impact of their coaching

This session will explore how the everyday sporting environment can shape athlete development and performance beyond physical and technical preparation. Drawing on Mustafa Sarkar’s work on psychologically informed environments, it will examine how coaches can foster psychological safety, support healthy motivation, encourage learning from mistakes, and help athletes manage pressure and setbacks. Through practical examples and reflection, coaches will consider how their communication, feedback, expectations, and responses to challenge can be used more intentionally to support both optimal performance and long-term athlete development.
