Because every child deserves a coach who knows how to bring out their best
Course Description
This course is specially designed to equip coaches working with young children with the tools and strategies to design and conduct movement lessons effectively. The practical sessions enable participants to master the application of pedagogical principles in both designing fundamental movement skills activities and coaching young children.
As part of the course attachment, participants will be mentored by a course graduate to discuss and practice the application of knowledge obtained during the course. A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded upon fulfilling all requirements of the course.
National Registry of Coaches (NROC) Registration
Upon receiving the ‘Certificate of Achievement’, you may register for NROC membership or login into your SportSync account to register for the new NROC sport under ‘Fundamental Movement Skills’ (if you have an existing NROC membership).
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
· Proficiently conduct safe and enjoyable movement lessons for young children using appropriate instructional strategies.
· Design movement lessons which demonstrate a mastery of pedagogical strategies to effectively engage young children.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for individuals who are currently coaching young children (under 10 years old) in fundamental movement skills and multi-sport programmes, or those with a keen interest in entering this field. Participants should have some prior experience working with or teaching young children, along with a commitment to professional development as a coach.
